.cn Domain Registrations Not Slowing Down So Far

Lat November, the story about the more than 13 million domain names registered, using as a guide the average of around 400,000 extra domain name registrations each month, was reported.

A few days ago, CNNIC has confirmed the figures with their website showing that as of end November there were 13,337,889 .cn domain names registered, an increase of 422,152 registrations in the month of November.

This is a good sign even as the recent quarterly VeriSign Domain Name Industry Brief indicated domain name registrations were slowing because of the current financial crisis, .cn registrations so far are showing no sign in slowing down.

Of the 13,337,889 .cn domain names, 8,684,442 or almost two-thirds (65.1%) are .cn names (registered at the second level), while 26.9 per cent of registrations are com.cn names.

China TLD, Beyond 13 Million Registrants

The country code Top Level Domain (.cn) dot cn (China) has rocketed past the 13 millionth registration this month. At the end of last month, there were 12,915,737 registrations and with an average of over 400,000 domain name registrations per month over the past year, will have easily past the figure now.

With well over 13 million registrations, dot cn (.cn) is by far also the largest country code, with the former holder of the mantle of most ccTLD registrations until earlier this year, .de (Germany), having as of today (15 November) 12,379,346 domain names registered. In January 2008, .cn passed the ten millionth registration, in March the eleven millionth and the 12 millionth registration in June.

One place that I hope to get a chance to visit someday is Dubai. So far, I have only read and seen pictures of really cool places in Dubai. I have heard of the only hotel that is rated as a seven-star hotel. I have also seen videos in national geographic about the construction of the Jumeirah property and the other ones like it. And looking at the pictures and hearing how nice Dubai is from friends who are already based there makes me more curious and makes me wonder how much it costs to invest on any Dubai property.
