Namecheap Acquires PeopleHost

Namecheap, on of the domain registration and web hosting services providers online, has acquired budget web host PeopleHost as announced recently.

“We have acquired PeopleHost as part of our long-term hosting growth strategy,” CEO of Namecheap, Richard Kirkendall explained. “We identified them as a company that we can transform with our world class customer service and technical support. This experience will be entirely positive for all PeopleHost customers.”

Namecheap began operations “just over a year ago” and now has a customer base of around 11,000 hosting customers. The company’s Hosting Services CVP Matthew Russell is in charge of the company’s hosting operation, and will be overseeing and managing the PeopleHost acquisition.
